About the Role:

Role Summary:

The Learning & Development Specialist designs, delivers, and continuously improves learning experiences that build capability across Wiley's global workforce. This role partners with stakeholders across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC to translate business needs into effective, engaging learning solutions, from concept and build through facilitation, measurement, and iteration. This position is ideal for a learning professional who applies adult learning principles, leverages learning technologies (including AI-enabled tools), and collaborates effectively across functions, cultures, and time zones to deliver measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Develop Learning Solutions:

  • Design and develop engaging learning programs across multiple formats and modalities, grounded in adult learning principles.
  • Support end-to-end curriculum development, including needs analysis, instructional design, content creation, and post-learning evaluation.
  • Apply an AI-enabled mindset to learning design and delivery to improve scale, personalization, and effectiveness.

Deliver & Facilitate Programs:

  • Plan and deliver learning experiences across onboarding, leadership and management development, skills-based training, and strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate virtual and blended learning sessions with a strong focus on learner experience and business outcomes.

Manage Learning Platforms & Processes:

  • Maintain and optimize learning platforms, dashboards, and supporting tools.
  • Drive continuous process improvements that enhance the learner experience and reduce operational friction.

Measure & Analyze Impact:

  • Track, analyze, and visualize learning metrics to assess program effectiveness.
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations to inform future learning design and delivery.

Collaborate & Consult:

  • Partner with subject matter experts, People Org colleagues, business stakeholders, and L&D team members to co-design learning solutions.
  • Provide guidance on learning and development best practices to employees, managers, and leaders.
  • Independently lead assigned projects and workstreams from initiation through completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in learning and development with hands-on exposure to instructional design, facilitation, and learning program execution
  • Strong instructional design capability with a solid grounding in adult learning methodologies
  • Experience designing and delivering virtual, blended, and self-paced learning solutions
  • Proficiency with learning platforms and technologies, including:
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS): Workday Learning or comparable systems
  • Learning Experience Platforms (LXP): Any market-available LXP
  • eLearning Development Tools: Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate
  • Video Creation & Editing: Camtasia, Powtoon, or similar rapid development tools
  • Audio Editing: Audacity or equivalent tools
  • Reporting & Analytics: Power BI, advanced Excel
  • Documentation & Content Tools: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat
  • AIPowered Learning Creation and Delivery Tools
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure learning effectiveness and translate data into actionable improvements
