Job description

Position Overview:

Seeking a friendly and professional Park Customer Service Representative I for its Matagorda Bay Nature Park. This entry-level position plays a vital role in delivering excellent service to park guests. Ideal for those with front desk, hotel receptionist, or cashier experience, this role is perfect for candidates who enjoy working outdoors and in a customer-facing environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist park visitors in person and over the phone.

  • Operate electronic Point-of-Sale (POS) systems to process fees and merchandise sales.

  • Provide information about park facilities, rules, rentals, and local attractions.

  • Handle cabin, canoe, and other rental reservations, including paperwork and payment processing.

  • Collect, count, and prepare cash/check deposits.

  • Assist with scheduling and coordination for events and facility tours.

  • Maintain park office files, inventory, and supply orders.

  • May perform basic custodial tasks, event setup, light gardening, or special administrative projects.

  • Independently travel to various LCRA park sites as needed.


Required Qualifications:
  • Customer service experience (parks, hospitality, hotel front desk, or retail environment preferred).

  • Experience operating electronic POS systems.

  • Valid Driver’s License (non-CDL).

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.


Preferred Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable handling cash and providing accurate change.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (email, Word, Excel).

  • Able to multitask and work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to handle minor physical tasks (lifting up to 30 lbs occasionally).


Work Environment:
  • Indoor office and outdoor park settings.

  • Exposure to natural elements (heat, insects, uneven terrain).

  • May involve standing or walking for extended periods.
