Job Description

Applicant may be hired for regular part time or seasonal part-time; the busy season is April - September.

Job Description:

Under supervision performs a variety of office administration, customer service and clerical tasks, cross training between the Reservations office and Front gate. Participates and provides input for hosting park visitors for a safe and enjoyable experience in the Recreation Area.

Examples of Duties of Guest Services Assistant:
  • Acts as host to the public.
  • Communicates effectively for marketing, public relations and visitor services purposes to promote and enhance use of park facilities.
  • Assists with customer service including sensitive issues and handling of complaints.
  • Accurately performs money exchange and counting, use of credit cards and accounting procedures; general budget processes.
  • Has thorough working knowledge of LCRA online campground reservation and point of sale system.
  • Has knowledge of policies and procedures of the Casitas Municipal Water District and LCRA.
  • Assists in compiling, computing and producing complex data accurately and efficiently; composing clear and concise correspondence independently and from oral or written instructions using correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • Assists with maintenance of the filing system.
  • Performs related tasks as assigned.
  • Assists with responses to emergencies as directed.
  • May drive District vehicles as required.
Education and Experience

Any combination of training, education or experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities for this position.

Knowledge and Abilities

• Knowledge of proper work safety standards.

• Working knowledge of, and ability to use and keep up with changes in, office equipment, computer technology, e-mail and the LCRA campground reservation and point of sale system.

• Ability to learn rules, regulations and policies governing the use of LCRA facilities.

• Type at no less than 35 wpm.

• Ability to accomplish administrative assignments with a minimum of supervision, follow and timely complete work schedules and assignments.

• Ability to follow and communicate oral and written instructions; communicate tactfully with the public, other companies and agencies, CMWD management and co-workers; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; analyze situations effectively and adopt the effective course of action.

Typical Physical Activities

• Use of office equipment such as computers, fax machine, calculator, copier, credit card terminals etc., telephones, telephone headsets and communication radios.

• Push, pull, carry, reach and lift equipment weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit for extended time periods, stand and walk for extended time periods, walk on uneven terrain in an outdoor environment exposed to the weather, flora and fauna conditions of Southern California and significant temperature changes between cold and heat.
