We are seeking a results-driven Commercial Project Manager to lead commercial projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate has strong project management experience, excels at negotiating change orders and additional work, and consistently delivers projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Landscape construction experience is preferred, but we welcome adaptable, assertive professionals with a proven track record of successful project execution.
Duties and responsibilities
• Plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of commercial landscape construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Read and understand contracts, plans, and project scopes
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals
• Negotiate and manage change orders, and additional work to protect the company's financial and operational interests
• Monitor project progress, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on schedule, within scope, and profitable
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications
• Collaborate with estimators, designers, and field teams to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations
• Prepare and present project reports, including budgets, cost analyses, schedules, and key performance metrics, to the Business Unit Leader
• Advocate for the company during disputes or negotiations, maintaining professionalism and prioritizing company objectives
• Lead and manage field superintendents through the successful completion of projects
• Provide the Business Unit Leader and Project Coordinator with timely project progress updates to support accurate and timely billing
• Document project progress and track production performance against schedules and budget goals
• Monitor project costs and performance against budget, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and maximize profitability
Physical Demands and Workplace Environment
• Work in both office and outdoor construction environments
• Travel regularly to active commercial landscape construction sites
• Walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and navigate uneven terrain as needed to inspect project progress
• Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds
• Use computers and other office equipment for extended periods
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures
• Maintain flexibility in work schedule to support project demands and deadlines
Requirements
• Minimum of 3-5 years of project management experience in construction, infrastructure, or related field
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
• Strong negotiation skills with experience handling change orders, scope adjustments, and contract disputes
• Dynamic and assertive personality with the ability to stand up for the company's interests while maintaining positive client relationships
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with the capability of learning and becoming proficient in other software as required including landscape focused software such as Aspire
• Knowledge of construction processes, budgeting, and scheduling
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
• Must have a smartphone with the ability to download and use mobile apps
• Maintain a professional appearance, including personal hygiene and grooming, to represent the company in the best possible way
Desired
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications
• Landscape construction experience with knowledge of commercial landscaping practices, materials, or installation techniques
• Experience working with municipal or large-scale commercial clients
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, or a related field
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certifications
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
