General Manager โ€“ Commercial Landscape Operations

Location: Charlotte, NC

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a driven and experienced General Manager to lead and grow the commercial landscape operations in the Charlotte market. This role is responsible for overseeing all branch activities, including team leadership, revenue growth, operational efficiency, and the development and execution of scalable systems and processes.


The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a track record of building high-performing teams, driving profitable growth, and implementing structure through SOPs, systems, and performance metrics.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, develop, and manage all branch employees across operations, production, and administrative functions
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain top talent to support branch growth
  • Foster a strong, accountable, and performance-driven culture
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and leadership development across teams

Branch Growth & Financial Performance

  • Drive revenue growth through client retention, expansion, and new business development
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the branch in both revenue and headcount
  • Manage branch P&L, budgets, and financial performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency

Operations & Systems Management

  • Create, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Establish and manage systems that support scalable, efficient operations
  • Ensure consistency in service delivery, quality, and client satisfaction
  • Oversee scheduling, production workflows, and resource allocation

Performance Metrics & Accountability

  • Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across the business
  • Use data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Hold team members accountable to performance standards and company goals

Client & Market Leadership

  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
  • Support business development efforts and represent the company in the market
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and long-term retention

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in commercial landscaping or a related field
  • Proven experience managing teams and driving business growth
  • Strong understanding of landscape operations, including maintenance and/or construction
  • Experience with P&L management and financial oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to implement systems, SOPs, and performance metrics
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience with industry software (e.g., Aspire, LMN) is a plus
