Production Team LeadRole Overview
  • Job Title: Production Team Lead

  • Location: Menomonee Falls, WI

  • Reports To: Operations Manager

  • Schedule: First Shift | Mon–Fri, 7:00am – 3:30pm


Job Summary

The Production Team Lead is responsible for supervising a specialized team performing packaging, pouching, kitting, assembly, and finishing of manufactured products on rewind equipment. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position manages daily operations to ensure the team consistently hits production, quality, and safety targets. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, data analysis, and the ability to coach and cross-train team members.


Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership amp; Supervision
  • Daily Management: Plan, assign, and manage daily tasks for both full-time and temporary employees with varying experience levels.

  • Training amp; Coaching: Provide ongoing training for new and tenured staff to improve performance and skill versatility.

  • Safety amp; Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed at all times.

Production amp; Operations
  • Data Analysis: Track and analyze daily production and quality data to ensure work centers are operating at peak efficiency.

  • Equipment Expertise: Serve as the "go-to" technical expert for rewinding and assembly equipment operation and troubleshooting.

  • Material Management: Monitor inventory levels of tools and supplies; coordinate reordering to prevent production delays.

  • Workflow Alignment: Communicate regularly with the Operations team to track progress toward organizational goals.

Quality amp; Continuous Improvement
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the team’s inspection processes and immediately address any deficiencies to maintain high standards.

  • 6S Program Management: Lead the 6S program (Sort, Set in Place, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) across multiple work centers; conduct regular audits and report results.

  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve bottlenecks or technical issues within the finishing and packaging processes.


Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Experience: Previous supervisory experience managing teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Background: Prior experience with packaging/finishing processes (e.g., bag sealing, pouching, material slitting, rewinding, kitting, or assembly).

  • Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to operate material rewinders, arbor presses, and sealing equipment.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to interpret technical drawings and work orders with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Mindset: A "can-do" attitude with a high sense of urgency and strong follow-up skills.

  • Physical Tasks: Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods.

  • Lifting: Capable of lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Dexterity: High manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination required.
