Job description

Tickets.com is looking for a Director of Accounting to manage the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls and compliance activities. This is a hands-on role, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, compliance with accounting standards, managing the accounting team, overseeing tax reporting and cash management, and providing strategic financial leadership to support operational efficiency and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and fixed assets
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including preparing summary financials and internal management reports
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain strong internal controls
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
  • Prepare journal entries and review reconciliations
  • Work closely with external financial and business/payments auditors
  • Analyze financial data and provide results and recommendations to management
  • Review and approve client settlements and cash transfers
  • Work with third-party clients and vendors
  • Oversee parent company reporting and intercompany including settlements
  • Recommend financial system improvements and process automation
  • Assist with tax filings and regulatory requirements Sales, Use, State, and Federal
  • Oversee travel and assist with special projects
  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, professional work environment
  • Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Evaluate staffing needs and support recruitment, training, and retention efforts

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Eight or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and GAAP
  • Experience managing audits and financial compliance
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion accounting software, preferred
  • Advanced Excel and accounting software skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Experience with accounting for multiple-entity and international consolidations
  • Must be willing and able to work independently on assigned projects
  • Strong initiative with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including prioritization and follow-through
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong attention to detail with a process improvement mindset
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity working for a technology and/or software development company is positive

Salary Range: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 (Base Salary) + Bonus

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
