Job description

Reports To: Director of Quality
Location: Lincoln Manufacturing, Inc. - Houston, TX
Facility Focus: API 5CT Range 3 OCTG threading and coupling operations
Position Summary
Lincoln Manufacturing LLC, an API Q1-certified OCTG threading and coupling manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Manager for its Houston facility. This role directs daily Quality Control operations on the Range 3 threading line, ensures compliance with API, ISO 9001:2015, and connection-licensor requirements, and manages the QC inspection workforce. Hands-on, working experience with the full slate of premium and semi-premium connections run at this facility is required.
Responsibilities
Quality Operations
  • Direct daily QA/QC operations on the Houston Range 3 threading line.
  • Verify quality and quantity of incoming and finished material against applicable specifications.
  • Determine disposition of out-of-specification/nonconforming product and material.
  • Maintain authority to stop production when quality nonconformances are identified.
  • Maintain currency of QMS documentation, work instructions, and inspection forms for the facility.
  • Approval of Work orders/Travelers before releasing to the shop floor.
  • Communicate with Licensors and licensor representatives as required.

Compliance & Audits
  • Maintain facility compliance with API Q1, API 5CT/5B, and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Maintain audit readiness and licensor compliance for all premium and semi-premium connections run at the facility, including VAM 21, VAM Top, TCPC, TCBC, Metal One, GB connections, Precision, ArcelorMittal AM-RAZR/AM-BLADE, Rattler, and Bushmaster.
  • Lead and support API surveillance audits and customer/licensor quality audits; participate in supplier audits and facility Management Review as assigned.
  • Manage corrective action requests (CARs) through root cause analysis, implementation, and closeout.
  • Conduct internal audits and drive corrective/preventive action across the department.
  • Support new connection and product qualification activities at the Houston facility as identified through gap analysis and customer interface.
  • Analyze specifications and statistical data to monitor process and product quality trends.
  • Monitor and report facility-level KPIs against established quality targets; escalate to the Director of Quality when targets are not being met.

Personnel Management
  • Directly supervise QC inspectors/technicians on the Houston Range 3 line.
  • Conduct performance reviews, training, and certification tracking for direct reports.
  • Recommend hiring, discipline, and staffing changes in coordination with the Director of Quality.
  • Train production and QC personnel on connection-specific make-up requirements and quality standards.
  • Assist the Director of Quality in developing and managing the Quality department budget for the Houston facility.

Reporting
  • Prepare and present periodic quality reports to facility and corporate management.
  • Communicate compliance and training needs to Operations.

Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of education and direct OCTG/tubular quality experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience (Required)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in OCTG/tubular goods quality, threading and coupling manufacturing, in an API Q1 environment.
  • Direct, hands-on make-up and inspection experience with ALL of the following connections is required: VAM 21, VAM Top, TCPC, TCBC, Metal One, GB connections, Precision, ArcelorMittal AM-RAZR/AM-BLADE, Rattler, and Bushmaster.
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing QC department.

Certifications / Technical Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of API 5CT, 5B, and Q1 requirements.
  • NDT background preferred (wet magnetic particle, UT, or EMI/MFL)
  • ISO 9001:2015 QMS experience; internal/external audit experience preferred.

Other
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production processes within the OCTG/tubular industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Training manager LMS and ETQ reliance experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication, given shop-floor workforce.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present quality data to management.
  • Ability to work on the manufacturing floor and comply with all PPE/safety requirements.
