  Position Overview 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Studies Teacher to join our middle school team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to understand history, government, geography, and current events while fostering civic engagement and critical thinking. This educator will implement engaging lessons, use interactive instructional methods, and create a supportive classroom culture that meets the needs of diverse learners.

  Key Responsibilities 
  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lessons in social studies (history, geography, government, economics, and current events).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and curiosity.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including project-based learning, discussions, and technology-enhanced instruction.
  • Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Integrate literacy and critical thinking skills into lessons to help students analyze historical and contemporary issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate student records, communicate with parents, and participate in staff meetings and professional development.
  • Uphold school policies and expectations to maintain a structured and respectful learning environment.
  Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, History, Political Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Valid Ohio teaching license in Social Studies (or ability to obtain one).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage middle school students.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and integrating technology into lessons.
  • Passion for fostering civic responsibility and historical inquiry.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school community.
