Job description

The University College Advisement Center (UCAC) invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Administrative Assistant 1 (AA1) position at The University of New Mexico's main campus.

UCAC provides academic advisement and support to a diverse student population, including undecided/exploratory students, pre-health students, liberal arts and integrative studies majors, and non-degree seeking students. As the first point of contact for the center, the Administrative Assistant plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional, and student-centered environment.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced office setting, and values teamwork and organization. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of a highly skilled academic advisement center while delivering exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and assisting visitors in person and by phone
  • Scheduling academic advisement appointments
  • Managing front desk and reception area operations
  • Answering telephone and relaying messages
  • Performing general administrative and office support tasks
  • Supporting UCAC staff with day-to-day operational needs

This is an in-person position located on UNM's main campus. Remote work is not available for this role.
