TITLE: Secondary Social Studies Teacher - Economics and U.S. History
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proper certification and licensing in Social Studies as required by state law.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education, History, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. History, Economics, and related social science disciplines.
- Ability to integrate current events and real-world economic concepts into instruction.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

The Building-Level Principal and the Superintendent
JOB GOAL:
To motivate each student to develop competencies in understanding the historical foundations of the United States and the principles of economics. The teacher will foster critical thinking, civic awareness, and informed decision-making skills while preparing students to be responsible and engaged citizens.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards for U.S. History and Economics.
- Teach historical concepts, economic principles, and civic responsibilities through a variety of instructional strategies.
- Promote critical thinking, discussion, and analysis of historical events, economic systems, and public policy.
- Integrate current events and real-world economic examples into classroom instruction.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages respect, inquiry, and collaboration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Utilize instructional technology and resources to enhance learning.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding student progress.
Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school activities as required.
- Maintain classroom discipline consistent with school and district policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
