Purpose of Position

The Manager, Information Technology, plays a vital role in managing multiple IT resources within Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Infrastructure, Network/Telephony, Deskside Support, or Project Management/Business Relationship Management. As part of a highly collaborative team, the role will interact with many technical and business resources across the enterprise and ensure standardization and compliance with company guidelines. The ideal candidate is a committed, creative, self-motivated manager with a solid technological background interested in managing a team dedicated to satisfying business needs.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of IT resources, managing operational and tactical initiatives ensuring their timely and accurate completion, in a manner that meets departmental KPIs
  • Manage performance and provide feedback as needed; address performance issues and plan for corrective action as necessary
  • Collaborate with IT Product and IT Account Management to ensure business needs are being met and communicated
  • Work with IT managers and directors as needed to help determine IT product viability and resourcing constraints
  • Collaborate with all IT departments to ensure consistent technology strategy and guidelines are in place
  • Ensure team has process and capabilities to troubleshoot and fix problems and provide root cause analysis in a timely manner
  • Conduct business configuration activities (see SAP Business Configuration Specialist Job Description) as needed to support resource needs as determined by the business
  • Provide support, if required, after hours and weekend work; travel as needed
  • Complete other tasks as required
  • Be accountable and responsible for the accuracy and completeness of assigned work and results
  • Prioritize and manage workload and communicate issues clearly
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience
Minimum Experience
  • 10+ years in Information Technology in one or more of the technical areas currently used by FSI. This may include software engineering (SAP, .NET languages such as C#, VB.NET, C++), data engineering (SQL), network/telephony, infrastructure, deskside support (Windows applications and operating systems), project management, or business relationship management
  • 5+ years of team management experience
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills are a must
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proficiency with the technology skills associated with the department assigned (SAP, software/data engineering, infrastructure, network/telephony, deskside support, project management, or business relationship management)
  • Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies such as TFS, Git, SCRUM, etc.
  • System and networking fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
  • Certification in area of responsibility is a plus
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
