Calypso Application Support โ€“ Capital Markets


We are seeking a Calypso Application Support professional to join a global Capital Markets support team responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of the Calypso settlement platform. The role will support critical trade lifecycle processes across Settlements, Securities, and Prime Brokerage in a high-availability, international production environment.


Main Responsibilities

  • Provide production support for Calypso, investigating and resolving functional and technical incidents across the trade lifecycle, with a focus on Settlements, Securities, and Prime Brokerage.
  • Act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for users and stakeholders, including Traders, Sales, Operations, and other Capital Markets teams, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
  • Monitor application and platform health, proactively identifying risks and contributing to production stability, incident prevention, and Production Excellence initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across Calypso, databases, operating systems, interfaces, and downstream/upstream systems, coordinating with development and infrastructure teams when required.
  • Support automation and operational improvement initiatives using Python, Shell scripting, Autosys, and monitoring technologies to reduce manual intervention and operational errors.
  • Follow ITIL-based support processes for incident, problem, and change management while collaborating effectively with global teams across Europe, India, and the Americas, including rotational and holiday coverage.


Qualifications

  • 7โ€“8 years of relevant experience in Calypso application support, Capital Markets technology, or a comparable production support environment; junior profiles with strong motivation and relevant Capital Markets knowledge may also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of Back Office processes, including Settlement, Accounting, Position Management, and Straight-Through Processing (STP).
  • Solid knowledge of Capital Markets products, particularly Securities, Bonds, Warrants, and related trade lifecycle processes.
  • For senior profiles, hands-on experience with Linux/Unix, Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, and enterprise monitoring tools such as Geneos, Dynatrace, Grafana, or OpenSearch.
  • Experience with Python, Shell scripting, Autosys, and ITIL-based tools/processes such as ServiceNow and Jira is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate effectively under pressure, interact with senior stakeholders, and work flexible rotational shifts in a global 24/7 environment.
