Job Summary:ย 

We are looking for an Implementation Consultantย Projectย Leadย to join ourย Implementationย Services teamย in North America. The successful candidate will work directly with clients, overseeingย the planning, implementation and tracking of multipleย concurrentย client projects from beginning to end; deliveringย customer satisfaction while ensuring deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget.ย We are seeing someone who canย lead empowered, matrixed, virtual teams includingย D2L, Client and potentially 3rd party personnel.ย ย 

How Will I Make an Impact?ย 

The role's main responsibility will be working with our Implementation Services team whoย are responsible forย delivery of client projects centered on implementing the learning management system, integrations and authentications, and training.ย 

  • Oversees the implementation of multiple and concurrentย small toย mediumย projects to customers across verticals (K12, Corporate and Higher Education)ย 
  • Takes the lead inย determiningย client requirements and translating them into operational plansย 
  • Takes the lead inย determiningย client's technical readiness and plan software installation and configurationย 
  • Propose, design, develop and deploy standard products as well as custom technical solutionย 
  • Design, configure,ย deployย and testย integrationย solutions betweenย enterprise systems such as the D2L suite of products and Student Information Systems and Human Resources Systemsย 
  • Keep upย to date withย new technologyย trends to helpย facilitateย client learning solutionsย 
  • Maintainย familiarityย with D2Lย Web Services APIs to help clients develop custom integrationsย ย 
  • Develops and manages projectย schedules and budgetsย and obtainsย appropriate clientย and D2L approvals/signoffsย 
  • Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the project; including financial health and status of the project; all risks, issues, changes; deliverables; etc.ย 
  • Undertakes regular status review meetings among members of the project team and clientsย 
  • Prepares and/or presents project status reports to various levels within management and the clientย 
  • Develops project control and reporting procedures and manages changes in operational plan, including adherence to legally binding requirements and best practicesย ย 
  • Identifiesย and assesses risks,ย severityย andย impactsย by applying company procedures andย methodologyย 
  • Determinesย and implements risk mitigation strategies, communicates risk to client and internal to D2L asย appropriate.ย ย 
  • Effectively interacts with internal and external stakeholders to achieve cooperation through the creation of communication plansย ย 
  • Manages client's expectations; understands client's point of view & needs while keeping D2L's interests in mindย 
  • Promotes a Win/Win attitude with the client; follows up and follows through on commitments responsiblyย 
  • Works with their leaderย and project teamsย on post-project reviews/lessons learnedย 
  • Leverage AI project management tools to enhance scheduling accuracy, forecast project trends,ย identifyย potential risks, and streamline documentation.ย ย 
  • Continuously explore AI-assisted innovations that enhance productivity, reduce manual effort, and support data-driven decision making across the project lifecycle.ย 

What You'll Bring to the Role:ย 

  • 3+ย years ofย experience in a project managementย and/or implementation consultingย capacityย (preferably consulting ofย software/web solutionย implementation-to-clientย projects)ย 
  • Professional services/customer service project managementย and/orย implementationย consultingย experienceย requiredย 
  • Strong knowledge of the practices,ย proceduresย and principles of project management, sufficient to analyze detailed concepts, and apply these in a range of related subjects or functional areasย 
  • Familiarity with end-to-end project lifecycle including business case definition, requirements & architecture through development & implementationย 
  • Confident and knowledgeable in Information Technology, including systems development lifecycle, business modelling, systems integration/implementationย methodologiesย 
  • Ability toย multitaskย manyย concurrentย projectsย 
  • Strong organizational written and oral communication skillsย 
  • Works proactively and independentlyย 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (especially client facingย withย a range ofย technicalย and non-technical stakeholders)ย

Education Requirements:ย 

  • Bachelor or Diploma in Computer Science, Applied Science, Engineering or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.ย ย 
  • Project Management certification; PMP or CAPM (or equivalent experience) considered an assetย
