Content Delivery Network Specialist (CDN Engineer)

Open positions: 7-10 Remote: 100% Job Description: Distribution of traffic and traffic load. Any app of CVS that is accessible over the internet or CVS network, CDN is the first layer. Allows for passage of these apps and optimize and control the request via the network and applies security config rules, determine if a bot or malicious event. End-Users will be internal application team these are their customers. Akami is the CVS approved CDN management tool at this moment and that is why experience is preferred. Could work on customer support, on call support, load management, automations, and some engineering work. Hands on CDN Engineer with profound foundational expertise in CDN concepts flexible to do maintenance, ops work, stories, but also driving automation and modernization work not full time doing development work. There will be one resource that will be a Lead (higher level experience and automation engineering work). Must be a team player, eager to get in and work with team and customers to find solutions. If they are on call, they MUST BE AVAILABLE and ABLE to jump on and resolve Intangibles: May need to be on call, may need to work nights and weekends we will need to vet them against this and make sure they are able to accommodate when being submitted. Min 10+ years exp on implementation and configuration for CDN at the enterprise wide across distributed systems. Must be flexible with the schedule as our CDN releases happen late at night. Experience with two or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., GoLang, NodeJs, Python, Java) Working knowledge in other in CDN areas such as :Akamai, Imperva, Fastly, CloudFront, Cloudflare etc. Building and maintaining robust automation frameworks using tools like Python,Terraform, GitOps, or other scripting languages to manage CDN configurations. Configure, optimize, and maintain CDN solutions like Akamai, Imperva, Fastly, CloudFront, Cloudflare etc. to enhance the content delivery performance. Understanding of search engine and performance optimization on CDN solutions. Experience with monitoring tools such as Akamai TrafficPeak , Grafana, Splunk / MS Sentinel / Newrelic,Akamai Metadata Tracer, ability to understand metrics and impact to system performance, and ability to build dashboards and alerts to ensure system reliability. Must be able to work on various aspects of CDN like automation, engagements, on-call support, triaging/troubleshooting efficiently. Understanding of core networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP,TLS/mTLS, DNS, HTTP/s, proxy, load-balancing, WAF etc) Experience with API tools like Postman/Rest APIs and API acceleration/Caching patterns. Implement and maintain Bot Manager and DNS configurations. Optimize cache settings, routing rules, and security configurations within CDN. Familiar with various distributed compute environments including client-server, VMs, AWS, GCP. Implement security best practices for CDN configurations and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and security experts. Must be able to provide CDN solutions/recommendations such as reference architecture, configurations , and deployment processes to enterprise solution teams. Provide support for incident resolution and root cause analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of CDN solutions into enterprise applications.
