Job Description

The Hotel Supervisor assists the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily front desk operations, including the supervision of hotel staff and the delivery of exceptional service to hotel guests. This position requires strong leadership capabilities, operational expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

  • Recruit, supervise, train, and evaluate hotel staff members; provide constructive performance feedback and professional development guidance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain weekly work schedules while ensuring accurate time and attendance record-keeping.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to guest inquiries regarding hotel procedures, policies, and property information.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints and disputes in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform front desk and hotel clerk duties as required to support operational continuity.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of room rates, room types, availability, hotel policies, and operational procedures.
  • Operate computer systems and software applications for front desk operations and administrative functions.
  • Maintain strict accountability and proper management of guest promotional materials and coupon inventory.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all applicable company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute additional projects and duties as assigned by management to support hotel operations and strategic objectives.
Qualifications

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

  • **Hotel Management Software Proficiency:** Advanced ability to operate hotel management systems, reservations software, and front desk applications. Capable of troubleshooting basic technical issues and maintaining accurate data entry.
  • **Customer Service & Communication:** Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to handle guest inquiries, resolve complaints professionally, and work effectively with diverse teams.
  • **Compliance Knowledge:** Understanding of company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

  • **3+ Years Front Desk Experience:** Demonstrated experience in front desk operations or guest-facing hospitality roles with proven competency in reservations and guest interactions.
  • **Supervisory Experience:** Prior experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality, with demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and evaluate team members.
  • **Industry Certification:** Current or previous hospitality industry certifications relevant to hotel operations or guest services management.
