Position Summary

The Industrial Engineer plays a key role in API Heat Transfer’s Lean cultural transformation by establishing labor standards, improving productivity, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. This position focuses on analyzing production processes, reducing waste, improving efficiency, and supporting cost‑effective manufacturing while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, and Management teams. This role is a full time in person position.

What You Will Do

Labor Standards & Productivity

· Measure, establish, and maintain labor standards to improve productivity and operational efficiency

· Develop production standards and perform time studies using conventional stopwatch techniques or predetermined time systems mapped to value stream maps

· Measure variances to established standards, identify out‑of‑control conditions, investigate root causes, recommend solutions, and follow up on implementation

Continuous Improvement & Lean Initiatives

· Actively support and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles

· Stay current on emerging CI trends and recommend new approaches that improve production efficiency, quality, and cost

· Recommend and implement methods to improve worker efficiency and reduce waste of materials and utilities

Process Analysis & Cost Optimization

· Conduct cost comparison and utilization studies analyzing workforce deployment, facility layout, production routing, schedules, and equipment utilization

· Test, observe, and visually map workflows to establish standard data for production processes

· Analyze and evaluate tooling issues and standard rate disputes within the production environment

Engineering & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

· Confer with management and engineering teams to implement process improvement plans and recommendations

· Participate in the early phases of new product line development to support design for cost‑effective manufacturing

· Support operational decision‑making through data‑driven analysis and recommendations

Documentation & Reporting

· Process required documentation and maintain accurate records of studies, analyses, and improvement recommendations

What You Bring

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred

· Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment

· Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles with an emphasis on continuous improvement

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives while maintaining a high level of attention to detail

· Ability to independently manage workload while promoting a low‑stress, efficient work environment

· Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
