Job description

The Manager, Financial Systems & Reporting is responsible for advancing BraunAbility's financial reporting, planning, analytics, and business performance capabilities. This role serves as the Finance business owner for Planful and is accountable for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization's reporting environment. This position will lead the evolution of reporting from a reactive, request-driven process to a proactive, strategic capability by identifying reporting needs, building scalable solutions, and delivering meaningful financial and operational insights. The role partners closely with Finance, Operations, IT, and the Business Transformation team to ensure leaders have access to accurate, timely, and actionable information that supports decision‑making across the organization. This role serves as the business owner for financial reporting and analytics capabilities, including reporting priorities, KPI governance, business requirements, and user adoption. Technical architecture, data integration, enterprise reporting platforms, and infrastructure remain owned by Information Technology.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Systems & Planful Ownership
  • Serve as the Finance business owner and primary subject matter expert for Planful.
  • Lead the administration, maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of Planful reporting capabilities.
  • Develop and execute a reporting roadmap aligned with business and finance priorities.
  • Maintain reporting structures, hierarchies, assumptions, metadata, and governance standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement of budgeting, forecasting, and planning-related reporting processes.
  • Evaluate and implement new Planful capabilities to improve reporting efficiency and user experience.
  • Coordinate user training, adoption, and ongoing support.
Reporting Enablement & Governance
  • Own Finance reporting requirements, prioritization, testing, and business adoption within Planful.
  • Proactively identify reporting opportunities and partner with IT, Data & Analytics teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Establish a scalable reporting framework that minimizes ad hoc report requests.
  • Develop standardized management reporting packages, KPI scorecards, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Define reporting standards and oversee a centralized catalog of approved Finance reports and KPIs.
  • Continuously review existing reports for accuracy, relevance, usability, and efficiency.
  • Reduce manual reporting and spreadsheet dependencies through automation and process improvement.
Reporting Governance & Data Integrity
  • Establish and maintain reporting standards, documentation, and governance across Finance and Operations.
  • Collaborate with IT and Data teams to ensure alignment with enterprise data governance standards.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of financial and operational reporting.
  • Standardize KPI definitions and performance metrics across the organization.
  • Promote data stewardship and clear ownership of reporting processes.
  • Maintain report inventories, documentation, and support materials.
Performance Management & Business Insights
  • Develop and enhance metrics that improve organizational visibility and accountability.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial and operational analysis.
  • Support monthly business reviews, executive reporting, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations for business leaders.
  • Define Finance reporting requirements and partner with IT and Business Transformation teams on solution design, architecture, and implementation.
  • Monitor and improve reporting effectiveness across the organization.
Finance Transformation & Business Partnership
  • Support ERP, business transformation, and reporting modernization initiatives.
  • Partner with IT and Business Transformation teams on reporting architecture and business requirements.
  • Participate in process mapping and future‑state design initiatives.
  • Ensure reporting and analytics needs are embedded in system and process improvements.
  • Advocate for automation, standardization, and best practices across reporting processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in financial reporting, FP&A, financial systems, business intelligence, or analytics.
  • Experience with financial planning and reporting platforms, with Planful experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining financial reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards.
  • Experience with Power BI, reporting tools, data visualization platforms, or similar technologies, preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Experience supporting business transformation initiatives preferred.
