As a Field Service Engineer III, you'll provide expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for LSMS, IC and HPLC equipment. Working with advanced technology, you'll deliver outstanding technical support while building strong relationships with customers across research institutions, universities, and industrial facilities. A Day in the Life:
Provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and technical support for sophisticated analytical instrumentation. Resolve complex hardware and software issues, perform preventive maintenance, train customers, and ensure optimal performance of customer systems. Build and maintain strong customer relationships while supporting scientific research and industrial operations.

What to expect:

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate LSMS, IC and HPLC systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and system performance issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance and service activities to maximize instrument uptime
  • Train customers and end users on system operation and best practices
  • Build positive relationships with customers across research, academic, and industrial environments
  • Interpret technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings
  • Work with ultra-high vacuum systems, high voltage electronics, and electro-mechanical systems
  • Travel extensively to customer sites and respond to urgent service needs when required
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, including laboratory and cleanroom protocols
  • Collaborate with colleagues while working independently in the field

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Advanced Degree plus 3 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analytical instruments.
  • Preferred fields of study include Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • Ongoing technical training and certifications required.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree, or 5 years with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating advanced analytical instrumentation.
  • Experience with customer-facing technical service activities.
  • Experience mentoring and training others preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise with ultra-high vacuum systems, high voltage electronics, and complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for hardware and software issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems, networking technologies, and standard business software.
  • Professional working proficiency in English; additional languages beneficial.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 50–70%.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
  • Ability to respond to urgent customer needs and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
