Job description

IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital | Indianapolis, Indiana

IndyVet is a 24-hour emergency and specialty referral hospital with a longstanding reputation for providing exceptional patient care and outstanding service to the veterinary community. Our 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility is home to specialists in Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Surgery, creating a highly collaborative environment where complex cases are managed through a true team approach.

Our culture is built on mutual respect, teamwork, and a shared commitment to helping one another succeed. From our experienced specialists and skilled technicians to our dedicated client service representatives and leadership team, every member of IndyVet is invested in providing compassionate care while supporting one another professionally.

About Our Oncology Service

Medical Oncology is already a well-established and highly respected specialty service at IndyVet. Due to continued growth and increasing demand, we are excited to expand our Oncology team by adding an additional Medical Oncologist. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a thriving service with an established referral base, collaborative colleagues, and the resources needed to provide exceptional patient care from day one.

Our Medical Oncology service is centered on delivering compassionate, patient-focused cancer care that prioritizes quality of life. We partner closely with referring veterinarians and pet families to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.

Our oncology team provides a wide range of diagnostic and treatment options, including:

  • Advanced imaging, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and digital radiography
  • Histopathology and molecular diagnostics
  • Chemotherapy administered in a dedicated treatment area with a biologic safety cabinet
  • Targeted therapies
  • Immunotherapy
  • Palliative and supportive care
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary case management with our Internal Medicine and Surgery services

This is an excellent opportunity for an oncologist who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine in a collaborative specialty environment while helping grow an already successful Oncology service and building lasting relationships with clients and referring veterinarians.

What We Offer

We recognize the value of our specialists and offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Competitive base salary plus production
  • Sign-on bonus
  • Generous continuing education allowance
  • Retirement savings options
  • Professional dues and licensing support
  • Paid time off
  • A schedule designed to promote work-life balance
Why Indianapolis?

Indianapolis offers the perfect blend of big-city amenities and Midwestern charm. With an affordable cost of living, diverse neighborhoods, outstanding restaurants, professional sports, vibrant arts and music, and countless parks and outdoor activities, it is an exceptional place to build both your career and your life. From the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indianapolis Zoo to festivals like Indy Pride, Indy Juneteenth, and Gen Con, there is something for everyone to enjoy year-round.

If you're looking to join a collaborative team where you can practice exceptional oncology, contribute to the continued growth of an established service, and make a meaningful impact on patients, clients, and the veterinary community, we would love to hear from you.

Ethos Veterinary Health, part of the NVA Group, is where you come to practice world-class medicine, and help shape what veterinary care becomes next.

Across our network of 140 specialty and emergency hospitals, science moves forward, standards are elevated, and innovation is put into practice every day. You’ll work alongside respected veterinary leaders in academic-caliber hospitals designed for learning, teaching, and discovery.

Here, mentorship is a two-way street. You’ll share your expertise, learn from others, and continue to grow, clinically, professionally, and personally.

At Ethos, you inspire hope, deliver exceptional care, and pursue veterinary medicine at its highest level, together.

Benefits for this role may include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), retirement benefits, paid time off (including sick leave and vacation), short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.

Ethos is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Ethos does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, veteran status or any other basis covered by appropriate law. All employment is decided based on qualifications, competence, merit, and business need.
