Strata-G is seeking an experienced Sr. Construction Manager/Engineer with the following:

Summary

Senior Construction Manager/Engineer support provides monitoring and assessment of construction progress and quality for the construction project portfolio. Position(s) also support resolving issues associated with interfaces between different executing organizations working on the project as well as with the final customer accepting the facilities and equipment. Ensure staff can provide as needed subject matter expert assistance in the following engineering disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • General Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering/Pipefitting/Welding
  • Construction Quality Control

Subject Matter Support includes completion of focused assessments; evaluation and analysis of issues and development and review of corrective actions in area of specialty; and participation in related meetings and briefings.

Awareness Activities and Assessments. Contractor provides monitoring and assessment of ongoing construction activities and ensures participation in teams supporting reviews and adequacy of planning preparation for future work entering or actively in design.

  • This work is communicated internally and externally through the annual Assessment Plan, which is a working document managed by leadership and subordinate Division Directors throughout the year with input from support contractors.
  • Report structure shall align to standing guidelines.

Weekends, night/shift work, and holidays may be required due to construction site requirements. Staff supporting these requirements may be either of the assigned Managers or (preferably) Construction/ESH Engineer staff.

Project Management Assistance. On an as-needed, infrequent basis, represent the Project Manager in internal meetings with the construction contractor or peer PMO staff. For assigned facilities/activities under construction, support project manager(s) with status reports detailing construction completed versus forecast. Interface with peer PMO and construction contractor staff, often in a group lead role, to analyze and evaluate adequacy of reactive measures to construction issues and challenges. Staff shall also coordinate integration of Federal staff and stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions at construction interface points with external and internal organizations.

Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent from accredited institution (Engineering preferred). For Subject Matter Experts, degree shall be in assigned discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years field engineering/construction oversight/monitoring experience on large (greater than $10M) construction projects
  • Excellent writing and communication skills providing fully edited deliverables (no grammar/syntax errors) with presentation that is professional, clear, concise, and logical. Writing samples may be requested.
  • Weekends, night/shift work, and holidays may be required due to job site needs
  • All staff under this assignment shall have the ability to currently possess or obtain a DOE/NNSA โ€œQโ€ Clearance
  • Candidates considered for hire, after receiving an offer, must pass a federal background and federal drug test before beginning their work assignment. Refusal to submit to drug testing or not passing the drug test will result in disqualification of further employment consideration.
