  • Lead engineering operations and reliability - Oversee system configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and support to ensure stability and performance
  • Enable development teams - Partner closely with engineers to resolve issues, improve workflows, and support build and release processes
  • Drive operational excellence - Lead Incident, Change, Release, and Problem Management practices while implementing monitoring and alerting solutions
  • Ensure secure and compliant systems - Deliver solutions aligned with security, architecture, and regulatory standards (e.g., PCI, SOX)
  • Automate and scale - Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team - Coach and manage engineers, driving engagement, growth, and strong team performance
  • Collaborate across teams and vendors - Build strong cross-functional partnerships and manage external partners to achieve business outcomes

We'd love to hear from people with:
  • 8-10 years of experience in software development, systems engineering, or infrastructure operations
  • 5+ years managing complex systems or application development projects
  • 3-5 years leading or managing technical teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with cloud or highly virtualized environments
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, load balancing, firewalls, proxies)
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver in a fast-paced environment

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
