Position Summary

Lonestar Electric Supply is looking for an Inside Sales Representative – Electric Utility Distribution who will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. The ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic with a strong desire to provide superior customer service. They must be comfortable working with electric utility customers, contractors, municipalities, cooperatives, and channel partners while generating interest, preparing quotations, processing orders, qualifying opportunities, and closing sales.


Responsibilities:

  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound leads, follow-up, and outbound calls and emails.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with electric utility customers, contractors, municipalities, cooperatives, and channel partners.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend products and solutions that meet customer specifications and project requirements.
  • Prepare accurate product quotations and pricing for customer requests.
  • Process customer orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Follow up on quotations to convert opportunities into sales.
  • Provide technical product information and assist customers with product selection.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure product availability and on-time delivery.
  • Resolve customer issues, order discrepancies, and delivery concerns promptly while managing customer expectations and ensuring commitments are met.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives by managing customer accounts and providing sales support.
  • Research accounts, identify key decision-makers, and generate interest within assigned territories.
  • Maintain and expand a database of prospects and customer accounts within assigned territories.
  • Build and monitor sales pipelines while achieving monthly sales quotas and maintaining forecast accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate customer records within the company's ERP and CRM systems.
  • Stay informed on electric utility products, industry standards, and market trends.
  • Develop lasting relationships with key decision-makers within customer and prospect organizations.
  • Meet or exceed individual sales and customer service performance goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven inside sales experience in the electrical supply and distribution industry.
  • Two or more years of inside sales, customer service, or electrical distribution experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electric utility distribution products is highly desirable.
  • Experience with products such as utility poles and hardware, transformers, conductors and cable, insulators, switchgear, underground utility products, metering equipment, connectors, grounding materials, line construction materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is preferred.
  • Track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong customer service, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong phone presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, CRM platforms, and other business technology.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with customers, vendors, and employees by phone, email, and in person.
  • Occasionally moves throughout the office and warehouse to support customers and coordinate orders.
  • Occasionally lifts and moves items weighing up to 25 pounds.
