Job Summary
The Product Manager - Electric Utility Distribution will have responsibility for leading product road mapping, new product development, and assisting in commercial and marketing strategy for the Electric Utility Distribution Market.
Job Location
This is a fully remote position with up to 50% travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop deep understanding of customers and competitive product market, identify product gaps, generate new product opportunities, and create new ideas to grow market share.
  • Ensures projects are consistent with product line strategy and messaging is effectively conveyed.
  • Lead product teams in the development of new and enhanced products and with an in-depth understanding of the marketplace, provides products and programs that are superior to the competition.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, product launch plans and prototypes.
  • Scope and prioritize product project activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Manage and rationalize products within brands.
  • Create buy-in for product vision both internally and with key external partners.
  • Work with commercial team to manage pricing, positioning and overall product line strategies.
  • Work closely with sales, engineering and operational teams to deliver efficient time-to-market for products with the optimal utilization of resources.
  • Act as a product ambassador to build awareness and understanding with customers.
  • Represent the company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on company products.
  • Become the subject matter expert of all relevant products, from raw material to finished goods. Own and manage all Products within the Utility D portfolio.
  • Drive product improvements as noted by market feedback.
  • Help drive go-to-market strategies and manage marketing literature for Highline Products.
  • Support development of commercial pricing and marketing strategies and tools.
  • Drive specification strategies, including product testing if required and keeping documentation current.
  • Gather and analyze market sales and costing data for market reviews, business cases and product line strategies.
  • Recommend pricing activities and cost-take-out projects to meet EBITDA targets.
  • Participate in any projects related to non-core areas of the business as needed.
  • Launch Annual NPD Projects following 280 Optimal Product Process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management or as field engineer within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams as well as external customers.
  • Travel as needed up to 50%.

  • Base salary range of $100,000-115,000 per year
