Job description

EDI Manager Position Summary
The Manager, EDI Operations leads the EDI Operations team and is accountable for the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of day-to-day production operations. The manager sets priorities and service standards, allocates resources across the team, and directs the resolution of complex and escalated production issues. The manager also owns departmental metrics and reporting, drives process and quality improvements, and partners with internal teams and external partners to ensure EDI transactions and connectivity meet client and compliance expectations.
Why does this role matter?
EDI Operations is the team that keeps our transactions flowing day in and day out, and when it runs well, our clients and payer partners barely have to think about us. This role owns that reliability and leads the people who protect it, so the work has a direct line to the service clients experience every day.
What impact will the new hire have in their first 6 months?
In your first few months, you'll get your arms around how the team runs today: where tickets pile up, what keeps breaking, and where we're slower than we'd like to be. From there you'll set the standard, get reporting in place so performance is actually visible, and start chipping away at the problems that keep coming back. By month six, we'd love to see a team running smoothly and a couple of fixes that made everyone's job easier.
What's the growth trajectory for this position?
This is a leadership role with real room to grow. Do it well, meaning a team that runs and people who develop under you, and you'll be set up to take on more, whether that's a bigger team, new operation areas, or a step up into senior operations leadership. The systems knowledge you'll build here opens a lot of doors across operations at DXC.
What You'll Do As Our EDI Manager
  • Direct and prioritize the team's workload, projects, and initiatives related to EDI processes and payer connectivity.
  • Plan and manage ongoing and upcoming EDI changes, payer changes, and production requests.
  • Own operational support for production practices, incidents, and help desk escalations, ensuring service levels are met.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and development of assigned team members.
  • Monitor team performance on support tickets, documentation, and follow-up, holding the team accountable to quality and turnaround standards.
  • Direct coordination between partners and the core development team to resolve issues and questions that arise in day-to-day operations.
  • Proactively communicate updates, risks, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Oversee testing of production applications and the development and maintenance of recovery procedures.
  • Develop, document, and maintain operational policies, procedures, and standards for the EDI Operations team.
  • Own departmental metrics and reporting, using data to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform decisions.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews for production issues within the confines of EDI Operations, and drive corrective and preventive actions to completion.
  • Live DentalXChange's company values - Actively Care, Try Hard, Be Humble, Feedback is a Gift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to the Team
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field preferred.
  • At least 5 years' experience with EDI transaction types (X12 837D, 270/271, 835, XML, etc.), including production operations.
  • At least 2 years of people-management or supervisory experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a team.
  • Experience owning operational metrics, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Experience with Postman and SoapUI is preferred.
  • Ability to change course as needed and act quickly.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications and use of the internet.
  • Ability to successfully multitask with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of technical and procedural aspects and functions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Pay range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually, DOE
What We Offer
  • Challenging and rewarding career opportunities with room for growth as we grow!
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits - eligible first of the month after start date
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Paid time off for sick, jury duty, bereavement
  • 10 company paid holidays
  • 401k with company match
  • Health Advocate
  • Healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts
  • Friendly co-workers and a positive culture!
