About the Role

We are a highly specialized, established, and successful development/construction company looking for an experienced Assistant Construction Superintendent for our projects located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Field Supervision & Execution:
    • Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities as directed by the Superintendent and Project Manager.
    • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project scope on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that complies with plans and specifications.
    • Responsible for the supervision of company personnel and equipment.
    • Responsible for the coordination, supervision, and performance of subcontractors as it relates to contract work.
    • Demonstrate the leadership and initiative needed to execute the project.
  • Site Management & Safety:
    • Maintain control of site security, access, and safety (including safety inspections, safety meetings, etc.).
    • Maintain detailed daily job reports consisting of man count, work completed, issues, inspections, daily progress photos, notes, safety, etc.
  • Coordination & Administration:
    • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and management skills.
    • Utilize knowledge of construction documents, construction process documentation, and subcontractor and consultant relationships.
    • Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings to ensure timeliness and quality of work.

Requirements

  • Experience & Technical Knowledge:
    • Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience.
    • Candidate must possess all-around construction knowledge with experience in mid-rise, mixed-use, and multi-family buildings, as well as in the means and methods of concrete and steel construction.
    • Stable employment background and work history.
    • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Education:
    • Education or equivalent training typically found in a 2- or 4-year degree.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • MS Project, Procore, MS Office, and Excel.
  • Key Competencies & Soft Skills:
    • Detail-oriented, organized, dedicated, with a high degree of integrity.
    • Ability to work well in high-pressure situations.
    • Uses a systematic approach to prioritize and execute tasks to achieve results.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.
    • Professionally and technically competent.
