Job description

The Corporate Accounting Manager working under limited supervision is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading accounting department staff in the activities supporting general ledger, sub-systems, and related business applications, which may also include the preparation of financial statements and ancillary reports in a corporate or cost accounting environment.
  • Salary: $125,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and accuracy of business activities within the department, including executing financial close activities and updating business practices.
  • Perform internal control self-assessments, prepare forecasts, and develop annual business plans.
  • Drive ongoing process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and development of accounting personnel within the assigned area.
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor to management on key financial issues, financial performance, and strategy execution, providing commercial business insights.
  • Interpret and apply company policy and accounting principles to financial transactions to ensure internal control compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business, with a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, including management experience.
  • Professional accounting certification preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in common office environments and functional applications such as SAP and Hyperion.
  • Strong project management skills and awareness of financial performance metrics such as CVA/NOVA.
  • In-depth knowledge of finance and accounting, internal controls, risk mitigation, company policy, financial analysis, statutory reporting, forecasting, and financial applications.
  • Demonstrated performance management skills and advanced industry and company acumen.
