Job description

The Digital Plant Industry Director is responsible for driving Vertech’s sales growth and market leadership for Digital Plant solutions, including MES, MOM, and SCADA projects. This role will focus on expanding Vertech’s pr
esence through direct key account engagement and collaboration with field sales teams to develop new business opportunities.
The Industry Director will build a deep understanding of the Digital Plant market, shape go-to-market strategies, and guide sales and marketing activities to support growth objectives. Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, this position will collaborate closely with the Director of Digital Plant and other executive team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality, profitable projects that strengthen Vertech’s position in the market.
Ultimately, this individual is accountable for Vertech’s sales success and profitability in the Digital Plant sector. Success will be measured by the ability to achieve top-line growth (sales and gross profit), maintain strong customer relationships, and support cross-functional execution that meets both quality and financial goals.
Essential Job Functions
Your specific duties as an Industry Director will include:
  1. Strategic Market Leadership
  • Deeply understand the target market, including market dynamics, regulatory trends, key players, and emerging technologies.
  • Define and continuously refine Vertech’s strategic positioning and value proposition within the target market.
  • Develop and communicate a long-term roadmap for growth, aligning business goals, market opportunities, and organizational capabilities.
  1. Sales Activity and Leadership
  • Deliver sales and profit that meet annual goals on a recurring basis through direct selling activity and by working with field sales teams on market specific accounts and opportunities.
  • Mange key account relationships in the target market with both customers, vendors and partners.
  • Directly manage key account sales pursuits and provide guidance to the sales organization with strategic insight, sales coaching and support, customer relationship-building, and executive-level engagement.
  • Manage sales funnel for target market, ensuring sufficient funnel activity to meet sales goals and delivering accurate sales forecasts on a weekly/monthly basis.
  1. Marketing and Business Development Leadership Alignment
  • Partner with the marketing team to ensure all external messaging, content, and campaigns reflect Vertech’s strategic position and thought leadership in target market.
  • Collaborate with the sales organization to develop market penetration tactics, including target client lists, customer personas, and engagement strategies.

Qualifications:
