Job description

Responsibilities

Digital engagement isn't just about placing banners—it's about creating culture-defining moments, interactive digital experiences, and grassroots activations that capture attention in seconds. If you live for scroll-stopping ideas, emerging digital trends, and creative concepting that mobilizes communities, we’re looking for you. We are seeking a hands-on Marketing Design Manager – Digital, Content & Activations to co-lead the visual creative strategy across our screen-first and content touchpoints.

In this role, you will focus purely on digital conceptualization, campaign activations, motion direction, and content collaboration. Supported by a team of Digital Production Designers who manage mechanical asset builds and re-sizing, you will serve as a lead practitioner ("player-coach") partnering closely with our Content Managers. Together, you will develop bold digital ideas, social-first campaigns, and grassroots community activations that elevate the brand across every screen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Conceptualization & Activations: Lead the visual ideation for digital campaigns, social activations, interactive ad units, and grassroots digital moments. Translate campaign briefs into high-impact digital concepts that spark conversation and drive customer engagement.
  • Content Strategy Partnership: Partner side-by-side with the Content Manager to brainstorm, design, and activate agile, trend-aware content. Co-create storyboards, campaign overlays, video graphics, and social concepts that feel fresh, modern, and platform-native.
  • Art Direction for Digital & Motion: Establish the visual standards, animation pacing, UI patterns, and motion graphic guidelines for all screen-first channels. Guide creative designers in turning high-level concepts into dynamic visual assets.
  • Grassroots & Trend Innovation: Stay deeply plugged into internet culture, emerging digital platforms, and local Texas community trends. Pioneer grassroots digital ideas (such as user-generated content prompts, local influencer toolkits, interactive polls, and location-based digital experiences) that build genuine connection.
  • Test-and-Learn Mindset: Collaborate with digital marketing and content teams to interpret performance data and A/B test creative concepts—using engagement metrics to refine bold ideas rather than playing it safe.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6–8+ years in digital design, social/content creative, or digital agency environments, with at least 2–3 years leading creative teams focused on digital campaigns, activations, or art direction.
  • Portfolio: A dynamic portfolio demonstrating master digital concepting, campaign activations, motion direction (After Effects/video integration), social content strategy, and mobile-first visual systems.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma (or Sketch), motion graphics tools (After Effects), and a deep understanding of interactive media and social platforms.
  • Leadership Style: A collaborative "player-coach" who thrives in brainstorms, rapid digital prototyping, and joint creative problem-solving with content creators.
  • Creative Bravery: Demonstrated ability to push past static templates to create interactive, viral, or grassroots digital campaigns that build active brand advocacy.

Core Competencies

  • Conceptual & Grassroots Vision: Ability to invent fresh, community-focused digital concepts that get people talking, sharing, and participating.
  • Content & Motion Craft: Mastery of visual pacing, motion design, and platform-specific aesthetics that hold attention on mobile feeds.
  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Seamless collaboration with Content Managers, digital strategists, and production designers.
  • Agile Execution: Ability to move fast, capitalize on cultural moments, and turn trend opportunities into polished digital creative overnight.
