POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: Development Manager
Reports to: Director of Development
Location: Can be in office, hybrid, or remote

Parthenon Management Group is an association management company offering management services to professional and trade associations. We offer strategic guidance and bring creative solutions with a vision for the future.
The Development Manger will assist the Director of Development with fundraising and stewardship strategies to enhance relationships and advance the philanthropic priorities of the organization(s). This position reports to the Director of Development.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following but are not limited to:
  • Oversee programs established through philanthropy.

  • Ensure exceptional stewardship of all donations.

  • Perform annual giving duties, including, but not limited to annual giving calendar, communications, create and execute giving programs.

  • Cultivate relationships with current donors and prospective donors.

  • Ensure proper documentation of donor information and donations.

  • Research and create prospective lists for funding initiatives.

  • Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgements of all donations.

  • Create collaterals to highlight the priorities of the organization and impact of donations.

  • Assist in planning special events that effectively communicate the philanthropic priorities of the organization.

  • Manage programs of the Foundation, including reporting to donors of the program.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Extensive knowledge of fundraising best practices and ethics.

  • Donor centric.

  • Ability to focus on and prioritize building relationships.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly motivated and creative problem solver.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.

  • Minimum three years of direct fundraising experience.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Details and results oriented.

  • Proven track record of building relationships.

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or similar field required.

  • CFRE designation is highly preferred.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions. On occasion, the individual must be able to do moderately demanding physical activity such as handling and opening boxes weighing 35-40 pounds, standing, and walking extensively throughout the day.
