SUMMARY: The Decision Support Analyst analyzes the business and user needs, evaluates processes and systems, and documents functional requirements within an Enterprise Business Suite environment. This position plays a central role in aligning the needs of the business with the capabilities delivered by information technology, and serves as the liaison between the business and technical groups. Must primarily perform office or non-manual work directly related to management policies or general business operations. Also, must exercise independent choice and judgment in matters of consequence 50% or more of the time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Analyzes business and user needs, evaluates processes and systems, and documents functional requirements within an Enterprise Business Suite environment.
  • Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based upon user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
  • Develops and manages the lifecycle of a project to ensure milestones are achieved, by tracking project tasks and notifying management of potential issues.
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering software capability, computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results.
  • Directs the functional activities associated with application enhancement, including documentation, functional design, testing and implementation.
  • Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements. Designs and develops operational workflows in an Enterprise Business Suite environment. Develops and executes the roll out strategies, cut-over plans, end-user training and support, and end-user documentation.
  • Designs and executes test plans to ensure that business requirements and functional specifications are implemented properly and meet ROI objectives.
  • Expertly applies knowledge of business systems to determine feasibility of projects.
  • Develops, edits, and maintains system operating procedures and standards manuals.
  • Conducts training sessions for new implementations, enhanced systems and procedures.
  • Identifies and makes recommendations for potential areas where existing business services, policies and procedures require change or new ones need to be developed.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is expected.

  • Ability to set priorities and work on multiple tasks.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Knowledge of office automation, Information Technology techniques and practices, forms and records management.
  • Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of data modeling and database design, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Technologies, Cognos-TM1, Kofax/Markview, Oracle Discoverer, other query tools, and Microsoft Project. Oracle SQL a plus.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Science from an accredited four-year college or university and five years experience in financial applications and Enterprise Business Suite applications as well as software implementation experience. Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) preferred.
