About the Role

Provide stewardship, expertise, and governance over business metrics supporting North America and UK capital investments and revenue and sales performance for North America’s AI migration / transformation. This role supports the definition, tracking, and interpretation of success metrics supporting our capital plan, ensuring consistent, decision-ready insights that inform investment, adoption, and growth strategies. The role is accountable for defining, tracking, and reporting key performance metrics for the AI-powered platforms and solutions offered by LexisNexis Legal & Professional. These metrics support executive decision-making related to capital investment, product adoption, usage, and revenue growth.  The position partners closely with Data Teams, Product Owners, Sales, and Finance to ensure metrics are well-defined, governed, and translated into actionable insight. The role provides recurring executive reporting and forward-looking analysis to support management decisions across the AI transformation lifecycle.  Additionally, this role will drive enhancement of existing capital reporting capabilities leveraging internal reporting tools and AI/automation tools.  Alongside cost reporting, this role will take the lead in developing and implementing ROI tracking information for capital projects. This role will also be asked to work with our internal AI Enablement team in order to identify opportunities to leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency and generate valuable insights for the finance team as well as executive business partners.  The position reports directly to the Decision Support Manager and interacts frequently with LexisNexis business partners, Global Analytics, and Finance teams to improve business performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Management reporting: Provide timely, sound and actionable financial recommendations from insights on scenarios of future performance.  Interpret, explain and drive financial performance using additional business insight and local knowledge to develop commentaries.

  • Strategic and tactical planning, budgeting and forecasting: Plan, Budget, RF1/2/3: Advise on key business planning assumptions, trade-offs and opportunities based on “what if” scenarios. Provide enhanced insight on revenue and sales drivers based on understanding of competitor activities and local business knowledge. Provide clearly constructed recommendations for actions. Finalize the messaging and content for the budget presentation material.

  • Investment: Identify areas of financial performance that merit analytical investigation and request support through the demand management framework. Provide support, review and challenge on investments in technology, acquisitions or product rollouts from development of business cases, through the acquisition lifecycle to reviewing financial performance and outcomes.

  • Workflow transformation: Partner with central AI Enablement team to identify and implement automation opportunities across finance workflows.  Evaluate existing processes to uncover efficiency gains and prioritize and track transformation initiatives.

  • Internal control: Provide insight for the annual audits with the support of accounting.  Follow internal controls and procedures to comply with data integrity and consistency.

  • Relations network (internal / external): Develop excellent relations and maintain regular contact with Business Unit CFO, Directors, Business Partners, Global Analytics, and Data Teams.

Qualifications:

  • Possess 7+ years of experience in a financial role (essential) and a deep understanding of P & L metrics and drivers working in a global organization

  • Have a Financial Degree or Diploma, MBA or advanced business degree. Excellent knowledge of financial and management accounting, process and systems.

  • Demonstrated experience of achieving results in an international environment, with appreciation of differences in culture and legal frameworks

  • Experience of delivering a service through a period of significant change

  • Familiarity with current AI tools and a natural curiosity for AI powered learning and willingness to challenge existing processes to develop efficiencies and provide deeper insights.

  • Knowledge and application of financial technical accounting standards and management accounting techniques

  • Robust knowledge and application of financial processes, metrics, drivers and dynamics for area of accountability

  • System knowledge: Excel (advanced level), PowerPoint (intermediate), Hyperion, PeopleSoft (or equivalent systems)

  • Ideally will have experience in LexisNexis /Industry comparator
