Responsibilities

Supervises operational activities within Reprocessing and Distribution Services. Areas of responsibility could include based on assignment: Distribution, Linen Distribution, Procedural Linen Area, Sterile Processing, Decontamination and Staging. Responsible for workflow, staffing to workload and functions related to the collection, receipt, decontamination, patient care equipment and linen exchange carts. Able to effectively direct and monitor shift leaders, technicians, transporters and handlers to consistently meet patient needs. Ensures proper preventive maintenance and repair, of equipment is conducted. Collaborates with Education Supervisor to provide orientation and training. Collaborates with Quality Supervisor to ensure compliance with Quality Assurance program. Assists in establishing and revising department policies and procedures. Participates in various personnel actions including performance appraisals, corrective actions and timecards. Assists the LCS Leadership in the development of policies, procedures, quality assurance, education, process improvement and assigned finances in compliance with standards outlined by Mayo Clinic and regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, OSHA, ERTKA, FDA, ADA, etc). Participates in department process improvement activities.


Qualifications

HS Diploma/GED with previous supervisory experience or an individual with demonstrated leadership ability is required. A Bachelor's Degree in business administration, related field, or equivalent and three years of management experience is preferred. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills are required. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel) in word processing, spreadsheet, and computer data entry skills are necessary. Knowledge of reprocessing principles, quality assurance, inventory control, and continuous performance improvement concepts is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Demonstrates excellent analytical skills, written and oral communication skills and ability to meet project timelines. Maintenance of certification  CLLM (Certified Laundry and Linen Manager) required.  Or if transferring into the role in LCS must be attained within 18 months.
