Job description

Position Summary: The Creeler is primarily responsible for creeling assigned yarns on correct knitting machines in an efficient and safe manner.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Creeler will creel twelve (12) machines total.
  • Keep yarn from being damaged while transferring from yarn boxes to yarn pin trucks.
  • Stack yarn on yarn pin trucks only one layer above top row of pins.
  • Creelers are responsible for removing empty cones and breaking down yarn boxes.
  • Follow all safety procedures/policies and advise management of any unsafe conditions.
  • Keep work area neat and clean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Associate must be able to read and verify yarns printed on knitting tickets with Knitter and Knitting Mechanic.
  • Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Commitment to company values.

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. and push/pull up to foot 29.6 lbs. with the use of equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Audio Testing: Yes
  • PPE: Hearing protection required at all times on knit floor; safety glasses required while using compressed air
  • Driver's License Required: No
