Job description

BUILT ON FLAVOR.  FUELED BY PEOPLE.

What's it like to work at Kinder's? Well, there's a lot of snacking and geeking out over what we all cooked over the weekend. Beyond that, there's also plenty of hard work. Because we don't just like flavor, we're obsessed with it.

With over 100 products sold nationwide, we're now a top-five brand in multiple flavor categories at Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, and more. We're not your typical CPG company. Privately held and founder-led, we like to think of ourselves as a pirate ship in a sea of cruise ships. Our crew is adventurous and fearless. We chart our own course and chase big ideas to make food unforgettable.

As we expand globally and approach $1 billion in revenue, we need more smart-and-scrappy, flavor-obsessed people to come aboard. If you're looking for a place where you can see the real impact of your work... this is it! Every day, you'll be part of a journey to add flavor to millions of meals and lives.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

Kinder's is seeking an experienced team member to drive our corporate strategy capability who is passionate about being part of a team of hard-working people focused on bringing the future of flavor to consumers everywhere.

Kinder's has reached a pivotal point in its growth. As we scale toward becoming a billion-dollar business, we believe sustained success will require not only great products and entrepreneurial instincts, but increasingly sophisticated strategic capabilities, operating disciplines, and decision-making processes. This role exists to help build those capabilities while preserving the speed, agility, and entrepreneurial culture that have fueled our success to date.

The Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy at Kinder's will play a pivotal role in our efforts to continue delivering at market-leading speed as we continue to grow. You will be responsible for supporting the development and continuous evolution of our corporate strategy, driving impact on the company's growth, profitability, and operational efficiency. This role requires a results-oriented leader with strong communication skills, project management discipline, analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. In this role, you will report to the VP of Strategy and work closely with the CEO and broader leadership team to evaluate and execute a broad range of strategic projects and initiatives, including high-priority enterprise needs that span functions or require additional strategic capacity.

While the role spans several strategic disciplines—including corporate strategy, corporate development, business transformation, and enterprise strategic initiatives—the allocation of time across these areas will naturally evolve based on business priorities, market dynamics, and the company's stage of growth. Rather than owning a fixed set of responsibilities, this role is designed to provide flexible strategic capacity where it can create the greatest enterprise value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Corporate Strategy – Development & Planning:
    • Lead the development and evolution of our long-term strategic plan, partnering closely with executive leadership to define growth ambitions, strategic priorities, and the initiatives required to achieve them
    • Maintain benchmarks for long-term performance targets and develop tools to drive broad organizational understanding of targets and keys to attainment
    • Identify capability gaps and critical resources needed to execute against the long-term plan
    • Develop business cases for key potential growth / resource initiatives and work with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams to gain alignment on strategic fit, operational feasibility, financial viability, and organizational priority
    • Build resource / capital allocation plans for approved initiatives and support cross-functional teams in developing departmental goals / plans to drive execution
  • Corporate Development:
    • Lead financial and business evaluation of key investments (including, but not limited to, M&A, joint ventures, major capital expenditures, etc.)
    • Lead evaluation of inorganic growth opportunities including, when relevant, mapping of target sectors / segments and identifying pipelines of potential targets
    • Lead strategic investment processes from evaluation through execution, coordinating cross-functional teams and external advisors to ensure timely, well-informed decision making.
    • Support integration efforts including development of integration plans and providing interim transition support where needed
  • Business Operations / Transformation:
    • Identify opportunities for improved operating efficiency (e.g. process evolution, ways of working / workflows, role / decision clarity), drive leadership alignment on priorities, and support development and execution of change management programs
    • Evaluate opportunities to improve execution through technology investment / upgrades and work with cross-functional stakeholders to build business cases and implementation plans
    • Work with the People team and cross-functional leaders to assess organizational design challenges and support development of evolution options and associated change management plans
    • Identify key margin improvement opportunities and work with cross-functional leaders to set attainment goals and priorities and support execution through the tracking of goals against targets.
  • Enterprise Strategic Initiatives:
    • Lead or support high-priority strategic initiatives sponsored by the CEO and/or Executive Leadership Team, particularly those that span functions, fall outside the normal scope of a single team, or require additional strategic capacity
    • Rapidly bring structure to ambiguous business questions, develop the relevant strategic, operational, and financial fact base, and translate findings into clear recommendations and practical action plans
    • Adapt to the needs of each initiative, from leading analysis and problem-solving to coordinating cross-functional execution, driving alignment, and ensuring clear ownership and follow-through
    • Own the development of executive- and Board-level strategic materials, shaping the narrative, synthesizing complex information into clear recommendations, and presenting findings as appropriate.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Success in this role isn't measured by the number of presentations created or projects supported—it's measured by the quality of decisions enabled and the impact those decisions have on Kinder's long-term growth.

Within the first 12–24 months, successful candidates will have:

  • Helped shape and institutionalize Kinder's long-term strategic planning process.
  • Led multiple high-impact enterprise initiatives from idea through execution.
  • Improved the organization's ability to prioritize investments, allocate capital, and make strategic decisions.
  • Become a trusted thought partner to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on the company's most important opportunities and challenges.
  • Built tools, processes, and capabilities that continue creating value long after individual projects are complete.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

The ideal candidate is energized by ambiguity, enjoys solving problems that don't yet have owners, and is equally comfortable building financial models, facilitating executive discussions, developing strategic recommendations, and rolling up their sleeves to help make those recommendations a reality. They combine structured thinking with pragmatism and are motivated by creating lasting enterprise value rather than simply completing projects. Additionally:

Education / Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or equivalent corporate strategic role
  • CPG or food industry experience a plus (but not required)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
  • Strong financial acumen and comfort reviewing and preparing financial information and presentations detailing financial metrics and analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex issues to a wide range of stakeholders and help drive change through building understanding
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Experience in project management tools a plus (we currently use Wrike).
  • Bachelor's degree (MBA or other relevant advanced degree a plus).

Personal Characteristics

  • Growth mindset with a passion for learning (and teaching)
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and is willing to speak their mind
  • Obsessive problem-solver with a focus on delivering quality results
  • Builder by nature with willingness to dig in and build systems and help drive change
  • Passionate people-lover excited by the opportunity to build strong relationships with teammates
  • Motivated by creating lasting impact and value
  • Thrive in a dynamic, lean, and agile environment
  • Collaborative mindset with an ability to find creative solutions
  • Excited to be part of a fast-moving team with the ability to be a leader and a follower where required
  • Builder by nature, with a passion for creating capabilities, processes, and ways of working that continue to deliver value long after the initial problem has been solved.

The expected starting salary range for this role is $160,000- $180,000 per year. The salary range posted for this role reflects the good-faith base pay range Kinder's reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting and may vary based on the location of the role. Individual compensation within the posted range will be determined based on factors such as relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, and business needs.

SEASONED FOR SUCCESS:
  • No two days here are the same.
  • We try to be good team members and good communicators, but we don't live by hierarchy and structure – everyone is a difference maker here.
  • We make a lot of decisions in the face of incomplete information – our team embraces ambiguity and tries to make good decisions fast rather than great decisions slow.
  • We believe our job is to take smart risk, not to eliminate risk.
  • We believe in growing our skills and becoming a better company with more managerial expertise, but we are an entrepreneurial company at heart.
  • We aren't trying to be average – we want to do exceptional things, and we are willing to work hard to achieve them.
BENEFITS THAT BRING MORE TO THE TABLE:

We offer a range of total rewards that may include paid time off, 401k, bonus / incentive eligibility, equity grants, competitive health benefits, and other family-friendly benefits, including parental leave. Kinder's benefits vary based on eligibility and can be reviewed in more detail during the interview process.

OUR RECIPE FOR BALANCE:

We believe great culture starts with people. We're a people-first company built on connection, collaboration, and balance. Most of our work happens in the office to spark creativity and community, but we also offer flexibility so team members have the autonomy to work outside the office when needed to support their work-life balance and personal commitments.
