Job description

The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction operations for assigned projects, with a strong focus on mission-critical/data center environments. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage fast-paced, technically complex projects while coordinating multiple trades and maintaining strict adherence to schedule, safety, and quality standards.

Candidates must have demonstrated experience leading data center retrofit, renovation, and live environment construction projects. This includes working within occupied and operational facilities where minimizing downtime, coordinating outages, and maintaining critical infrastructure are essential to project success.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Lead and supervise on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout.
  • Coordinate structural, architectural, and MEP trades with a strong focus on mission-critical construction.
  • Manage construction sequencing in active data center environments while maintaining operational continuity.
  • Oversee retrofit, renovation, densification, and infrastructure upgrade projects within existing data centers.
  • Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, and outage planning with project teams, clients, and trade partners.
  • Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, safety protocols, and local building codes.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including detailed 3-week look-ahead plans.
  • Partner with Project Managers to track progress, resolve field issues, and maintain project milestones.
  • Conduct daily coordination meetings, safety briefings, and subcontractor planning meetings.
  • Enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance across all jobsite activities.
  • Perform routine site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to contract documents.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, RFIs, and project documentation using Procore or similar software.
  • Manage inspections, commissioning coordination, punch lists, and project closeout activities.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and design teams.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent leading commercial, industrial, or mission-critical construction projects.
  • Proven experience delivering retrofit, renovation, or densification projects within existing operational data centers.
  • Experience working in live/occupied mission-critical environments, including outage planning, shutdown coordination, and maintaining operational continuity.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing across multiple trades, with an emphasis on complex MEP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP construction drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with construction management software (Procore preferred).
  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel locally as required based on project needs.
