Muldrow, OK - Production & Distribution Superintendent | 2nd Shift

Summary: Meets with Plant Manager on production and distribution activities and changes. Meets with production and distribution supervisors to relay all pertinent information about production schedules, changes and employee policy changes. Reviews to make sure production standards are being met. Assists supervisors in handling people issues. Coordinates and interacts with all other department heads. Acts in place of Plant & Distribution Manager when he/she is unavailable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Monitors and instructs supervisors in Production and Distribution.
  • Keeps Plant Manager informed on any production, distribution, maintenance or logistics problems.
  • Assists Plant Manager in communication of information to supervisors and leads.
  • Evaluates line performance to insure we achieve most economical process (Yield and cost standards) and maintain high standard of quality.
  • Meets with management on any problems and/or new ideas on flow, process or equipment.
  • Chairs the Ergonomic & Safety committees during monthly meetings.
  • Handles any personnel problems that are referred to him/her by supervisors or upper management.
  • Coordinates production activities with other department heads i.e. Heavener, Reed Lane, and Newlon Warehouse.
  • Performs yard checks including but not limited to: trailer temps, fuel, loading status, trailers sealed, railcar status and overall condition of building.
  • Reviews cycle count inventories.
  • Authorizes inventory adjustments.
  • Performs all other assigned duties as necessary.
  • Performs weekly meetings with USDA. Handling USDA concerns and keeps track until it closed.
  • Meets with maintenance team on any problems and/or new ideas on flow, process or equipment.
  • Keeps QA supervisor communication on any production, distribution, USDA problems.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages 6 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 90 employees in Production and Distribution. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must receive HACCP certification.
