Palmetto Home Center, a Nation’s Best Holdings, LLC company, is seeking experienced candidates for a Yard Manager position in our Summerville, SC location.

What Does a Warehouse Manager Do? 

  • Oversees outside yard operations and ensures accuracy on all deliveries by effectively managing a team of warehouse employees and delivery drivers
  • Coordinate tasks and assignments to employees daily and monitors the overall workflow of operation
  • Assists team with unloading, loading materials and building loads as needed
  • Assisting customers by answering questions and handles customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Maintains inventory by properly labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock; this goes hand in hand with making sure to maintain your area, it should be tidy and up to standard
  • Assists the Store Manager in effectively running the store and lumber yard to ensure company standards and procedures are followed and exceptional customer service is provided
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and ensures all employees are properly trained and follow safety standards
  • Assists manager with exterior and interior store maintenance
  • Conducts training of new hires and ongoing training of existing staff with guidance and support from Store Manager
  • Monitors staff daily performance and provides redirection, as needed
  • Communicates frequently and consistently with staff members
  • Participates in manager meetings, financial reviews and training events, as requested
  • Results-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills
  • Be able to follow through a ticket from start to finish, making sure that the result is a happy customer and delivered materials

What Does It Take to Be a Warehouse Manager? 

  • High school diploma or equivalent / 1+ years of Lumber yard Management 

  • Computer proficiency 

  • Work outdoors. 

  • Results-oriented with ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s values. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills with willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skills. 

  • Ability to lift up to 50-75lbs consistently and bend, twist, squat and reach throughout work shift.
