Description
Summary: Responsible for managing all facets of warehouse operations; including supervision of receiving, warehouse, special events, loading, and daily routing.
Essential Functions
Operations
• Works directly with service and sales management in determining and performing warehouse duties and assisting other departments, as needed
• Uses route accounting software to manage daily delivery routing and processing sales orders
• Oversees and assists with special events coordination, scheduling and delivery.
• Oversees and assists with repack, warehouse cleaning and organization
Equipment Management
• Communicates all warehouse equipment requirements, repairs, maintenance and cleanliness concerns to the Facilities & Fleet Manager, to include: fork-lifts, walkie-riders, pallet jacks, warehouse equipment, and draught equipment
• Communicates and coordinates pickup and delivery of vehicles needing repair or service
• Assists with equipment research and purchases
Inventory Management
• Responsible for ensuring proper inventory rotation (FIFO) of all BDL brands
• Receives and verifies incoming product orders and enters procurements into computer system
• Responsible for warehouse product layout / locations to ensure the most efficient operational use for receiving and loading
• Assists the Inventory Management Team with all inventory damage claims, returns and cooperage issues
• Assists with physical inventory process, as needed
• Works with the Inventory Management Team to determine product to be transferred between warehouses
Safety and Compliance
• Assists with employee fork-lift training and record retention
• Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations relating to warehouse operations
Supervision
• Supervises warehouse employees as well as the truck loading operations; plans and organizes daily/weekly work assignments for direct reports
• Coaches and mentors employees for improved performance
• Conducts regular formal performance reviews for direct reports, as outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Manages employees' performance: prepares development plans to improve performance and documents performance issues; disciplines employees in accordance with company policy
• Approves and schedules employee PTO usage ensuring adequate shift coverage
• Maintains strong understanding and knowledge of Company policies and procedures
• Promotes and maintains Company goodwill in all areas, internally and externally
• Completes other duties as assigned to meet business needs
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in a discipline similar to Supply Chain Management, Warehouse operations or related program; or equivalent combination of experience and education
Necessary Skills and Abilities
• Mechanical skills and aptitude
• Knowledge of building codes and relevant safety regulations
• Forklift certification
• Proficient computer software skills, including MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to read blue prints
• Valid CDL or ability to obtain CDL
• Strong organizational, planning and problem solving skills
• Professional demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift various case and keg stock, up to 175 pounds
• Ability to frequently walk, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or
controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear; sit occasionally
Working Conditions/Environment
• Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions
• May be required to work extended hours
