Position Summary:

The warehouse manager plays a critical role in our rapidly growing operation. This position requires an initiative-taking, dependable leader to manage our warehouse team. This position requires a self-driven, well-organized leader who can exercise decision making skills and time management with little supervision. This position reports to the Plant Manager and supports the company with the responsibilities that are included below.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directs the development and implementation of activities in the warehouse to meet productivity goals, quality, and cost objectives
  • Plan facility layouts or designs
  • Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leaders
  • Establishes and measures KPI’s for all warehouse functions
  • Prioritizes warehouse based on customer wanted date, product availability, and available resources
  • Works with cross functional team, including production and customer service, to ensure we are meeting customer expectations
  • Oversee day-to-day picking, packing, shipping, receiving activities
    1. Manage and assign workloads and projects to employees
    2. Prepare, inspect, and verify paperwork is ready for orders
  • Oversee required training and development of employees for continued growth
  • Establish or implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with team members
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and achieve department goals
  • Develop and implement appropriate training with team members to ensure we are driving efficiency, accuracy, and appropriate controls
  • Maintain safe work environment and participate in safety program development
  • Assist in performance reviews and team member development
  • Responsible for maintaining and enforcing all food safety, employee safety and quality policies and procedures
  • Comply with GMP, personal hygiene, HACCP and other quality and employee safety programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years warehouse management experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or related preferred
  • Experience in food and beverage industry preferred
  • Experience with lot number controls and tracking is necessary
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, adapt to changing deadlines & lead the team to meet deadlines
  • Forklift certification required
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact when working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to multi-task in a demanding environment
  • ERP and/or WMS experience required
  • Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, experience with handheld scanning devices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Physical requirements include lifting to 60 lbs., bending, standing, and climbing
