Job description

Summary
Accountable for the definition, prioritization, and delivery of high-value technology and data initiatives within one or more enterprise value streams. Operates as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, architects, and external delivery partners to translate business strategy into executable backlogs and delivered outcomes. Ensures alignment to enterprise standards, delivery predictability, and realization of business value while operating within a Scaled Agile (SAFe) and hybrid delivery environment. This role is accountable for governing priorities, scope, and delivery commitments across ARTs and project-based initiatives.
Essential Job Functions (included but not limited to the following):

Product Ownership & Delivery
  • Own and manage the product backlog for one or more value streams, ensuring alignment to business outcomes and delivery commitments.
  • Partner with Business Owners, Product Managers, Architects, and technical teams to translate strategic objectives into features, stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for scope, priority, and delivery commitments within the Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Ensure delivery commitments are met with a focus on quality, timeliness, and cost-effective outcomes.

SAFe & Agile Practice
  • Coach partners and stakeholders on effective Agile engagement and value-based prioritization.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process gaps and improvement opportunities across delivery teams and functional areas.

Vendor & Partner Management
  • Work directly with external vendors and system integrators delivering components of the product or solution.
  • Ensure vendor work aligns with backlog priorities, architectural standards, quality expectations, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure developed standards are utilized and upheld throughout vendor-delivered and internally delivered solutions.

Project & Initiative Coordination
  • Collaborate with Project Managers where initiatives involve fixed scope, regulatory deadlines, or cross-portfolio coordination.
  • Provide status, risk, and dependency visibility to leadership as needed.
  • Develop and successfully manage delivery plans across the full initiative lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing coordination, and readiness for implementation when required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Project & Initiative Coordination
  • Serve as a liaison between business, operations, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and integrate effectively across functional areas.
  • Demonstrate broader cross-functional knowledge to support initiatives spanning multiple domains or value streams.
  • Support enterprise initiatives such as system integrations, data interfaces, or business transformations requiring coordination across teams and partners.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and consistency of practices across the delivery organization.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • 6 years of experience delivering complex business or technology solutions in an enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner in a SAFe or scaled Agile environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex backlogs and delivery commitments across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working with external vendors or delivery partners in hybrid Agile/project environments.
  • Solid understanding of project management fundamentals (scope, schedule, risk, dependencies), particularly in hybrid Agile/project environments.
  • Strong understanding of delivery fundamentals, including scope, risk, dependencies, and governance.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager (POPM) certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting ERP, data, analytics, digital platforms, or shared services portfolios.
  • Experience operating in regulated, audit-aware, or compliance-driven enterprise environments.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups with competing priorities.
