POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Technical Mill Supervisor to oversee daily CNC milling operations in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This leadership position is responsible for supervising machinists, maintaining quality and safety standards (AS9100 / FAA compliance), and ensuring production targets are met through efficient workflow, process optimization, and equipment reliability. This individual will also collaborate with engineering and quality departments to drive continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership & Team Management: Supervise, train, and mentor machinists, programmers, and technicians while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Production Oversight: Manage daily milling operations to ensure adherence to production schedules, cost targets, and quality standards.
  • Quality & Compliance: Implement and uphold AS9100, FAA, and internal quality assurance protocols, ensuring all components meet aerospace standards.
  • Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies, lead Lean manufacturing initiatives, and resolve complex machining challenges.
  • Equipment & Maintenance: Monitor machine performance, manage preventative maintenance schedules, and recommend upgrades to ensure high equipment uptime.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to support product launch, process capability, and nonconformance resolution.
  • Reporting & Inventory: Track production metrics, maintain accurate shop floor records, and oversee inventory and materials flow.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 10 years of CNC machining experience, with aerospace manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a machining environment.
  • Deep knowledge of CNC milling, multi-axis machinery, and aerospace-grade materials and tooling.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision machining standards.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AS9100 quality standards and FAA regulatory compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on leadership style.

BENEFITS

  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid holidays and vacation
  • Opportunities for advancement in a growing company
