Job description

Overview: CNC Supervisor:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Supervisor to lead our manufacturing operations within our precision machining and fabrication facility. This pivotal role involves overseeing the setup, programming, and operation of CNC machinery to ensure high-quality production standards are met efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC programming, machine operation, and team leadership, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control. As a CNC Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining safety, optimizing workflows, and fostering continuous improvement across the machining department.

Duties: CNC Supervisor:
  • Supervise daily CNC machining activities, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Oversee the setup and calibration of CNC equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC presses using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming.
  • Program CNC machines utilizing Fanuc controls and other relevant software to produce precise components according to blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues promptly, and coordinate repairs or maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Lead a team of machinists and operators, providing training on CNC programming, tooling setup, and safety procedures.
  • Implement quality control measures using GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Manage materials handling, tooling inventory, and fabrication processes including welding, stamping presses, and press brake machines.
  • Enforce safety protocols within the factory environment while promoting a culture of continuous improvement in machining practices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling design modifications and process enhancements for increased efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, machine logs, and quality reports for audit readiness.

Qualifications: CNC Supervisor:
  • Proven experience as a CNC Supervisor or similar leadership role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code for Fanuc controls.
  • Proficiency in CAD software like SolidWorks for part design review and CAM programming.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to machining equipment including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, press brakes, and fabrication tools.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and technical drawings to interpret manufacturing specifications accurately.
  • Experience operating forklifts and hand tools essential for materials handling and setup tasks.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings with GD&T annotations to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
  • Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining dimensions and tolerances.
  • Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience with an emphasis on safety standards and process optimization.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train staff effectively while fostering teamwork.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus but not mandatory. If you are committed to excellence in manufacturing operations and eager to lead a dynamic team in producing high-quality components through advanced CNC technology, we encourage you to apply for this vital role.
