Job description

CNC Operator / CNC Setup Operator

Full-Time | Manufacturing | Non‑Exempt

Position Summary

We are seeking motivated individuals for aCNC Operator / CNC Setup Operatorrole supporting precision machining operations. This posting is intentionally designed forboth new technical school graduatesentering the trade andexperienced CNC Setup Operatorslooking to apply their skills in a production environment.

Candidates will be placed at theOperator or Setup level based on experience, training, and demonstrated ability. There are opportunities in both West Milwaukee and Belgium, Wisconsin.

Key ResponsibilitiesCNC Operator – Entry Level / Tech School Graduate

(Ideal for recent technical school or machining program graduates)

  • $20-$26/hr based on experience
  • Operate CNC machines (mills and/or lathes) following work instructions and job travelers
  • Load raw materials and unload finished parts safely and efficiently
  • Monitor machine operation and notify leads or supervisors of issues
  • Perform basic in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Follow established quality, safety, and production procedures
  • Accurately complete production and quality documentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Learn machining processes, tooling, and setups with the goal of skill advancement
CNC Setup Operator – Experienced Level

(Requires prior CNC setup experience)

  • $24-$30/hr based on experience
  • Perform complete CNC machine setups including tooling, fixturing, offsets, and program verification
  • Interpret blueprints, job travelers, and specifications, including basic GD&T
  • Conduct first‑article inspections and make necessary adjustments
  • Troubleshoot setup and machining issues to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Ensure proper tooling selection, condition, and replacement
  • Support operators during production runs as needed
  • Document setup parameters and changes accurately
General Responsibilities (All Levels)
  • Identify and report quality or machine concerns promptly
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
QualificationsCNC Operator – Entry Level

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of (or enrollment in) atechnical school, machining, or CNC training program
  • Basic understanding of machining concepts and shop math
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Reliable, detail‑oriented, and safety‑conscious

Preferred

  • Hands‑on CNC exposure through school labs, internships, or co‑op experience
  • Familiarity with basic measuring tools
CNC Setup Operator – Experienced Level

Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of CNC setup experiencein a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic GD&T
  • Working knowledge of tooling, fixturing, offsets, and machining processes
  • Experience conducting first‑article inspections and process adjustments

Preferred

  • Experience with multiple CNC machines (mills and/or lathes)
  • Familiarity with CNC controls and program verification
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and industrial conditions
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Repetitive use of hands, arms, and fingers
  • Ability to lift up to50 lbsoccasionally
