Job description

CNC Machining Operations Supervisor (Mills & Lathes)

Picture the scene: the floor is humming, programs are verified, and your team of seasoned machinists is executing full setups on mills and lathes. You’re the leader who keeps third shift moving—owning output, quality, and staffing—while day-shift management is home asleep. That’s this role in a nutshell.

About the Opportunity
  • Employment: Direct-hire, permanent role on the employer’s payroll (not a temp assignment)
  • Compensation: $80,000–$90,000 base salary with periodic bonuses
  • Location: On-site in the Cleveland, Ohio area

This is a leadership position—not a machine-running seat. The CNC stations are fully staffed; your impact comes from guiding people and the process.

What You’ll Drive Each Night
  • Lead the CNC machining department (mills and lathes) through the overnight shift
  • Direct machinists who perform full setups, run their jobs, and edit their own programs
  • Own production throughput, first-pass quality, and shift staffing
  • Be the accountable decision-maker on the floor when day-shift leaders are out
What You Bring
  • Several years supervising a CNC machining department in a true leadership title
  • Hands-on CNC foundation strong enough to credibly lead experts doing full setups
  • A genuine preference for the overnight schedule as a long-term commitment
  • Clear communication, steady floor presence, and team-first leadership
Schedule & Pay
  • Shift: Third shift, permanently overnight
  • Pay: $80,000–$90,000 per year, plus periodic bonuses

This role is permanently nights. We’re looking for leaders who want to work overnight as their long-term rhythm—not those who are merely open to trying it.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • A real leadership seat with ownership of a full shift—not just a lead-hand designation
  • Stable direct-hire employment from day one
Physical Requirements

This role involves regular time on a production floor: walking the floor, standing for extended periods, and being available to physically move around a machining department throughout the shift. Reasonable accommodations can be made where it makes sense.
