We tackle the most complex challenges to unlock new frontiers for human progress, fortify national security, and protect critical assets to lead in the race for technological and operational superiority from ground to space. Forge the Future: Join Voyager Technologies The future belongs to those who build it. At Voyager Technologies, we're building technologies that protect lives, expand frontiers and prepare us for what's next. And we're doing that with people who are wired to solve, build, adapt and lead. These roles are not for the faint of heart. You'll help lay the foundation for humanity's future. Join a culture where innovation thrives, curiosity is rewarded, and impact is real. We're a company of doers, thinkers and builders, united by purpose and grounded in reality. If you want to put your skills to work where the stakes are real and the mission is bigger than any one person, forge the future with Voyager. The Senior CNC Programmer will be located onsite in Penrose, CO with a transition to Pueblo, CO and reports to the Machining and Fabrication Manager. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating advanced multi-axis CNC equipment - including 5-axis mills and live-tooling lathes - to produce high-precision components in aerospace-grade materials such as Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel, while driving Voyager Energetics' transition to a new, automation-capable production facility. In this role, the essential functions are: * Create highly efficient SolidWorks CAM programs for complex 5-axis mill and mill-turn operations, including structured text development, toolpath optimization, full machine model verification, collision detection, and cycle time analysis. * Design and model fixtures, work holding, and production tooling in SolidWorks to support precision part production across steel, aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium. * Program, set up, and operate live-tooling lathes with Y-axis capability, executing advanced turning strategies and validating probe routines and multi-axis synchronization prior to production. * Execute true 5-axis strategies (Unified toolpaths, Blade, Flow) with gouge checking, dynamic material removal simulation, and toolpath optimization to achieve tight tolerances on exotic alloys. * Develop complete manufacturing processes from drawing to finished high-precision part, troubleshooting and refining programs to ensure first-part success. * Build and maintain machine models, create custom control files, and simulate complex multi-axis setups to ensure safety and accuracy before any code reaches the shop floor. * Support the transition to a new aerospace-capable facility, contributing expertise in automation and lights-out manufacturing as capabilities expand. If your experience aligns with our basic qualifications and you are inspired by our mission, we'd like to connect. If you don't see the right role right now, Join Our Talent Community and stay connected as we continue to build what's next. Basic Qualifications * High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in CNC machining and programming OR Associate's degree in Machining Technology or related field with 3 years of experience OR 8 years of hands-on CNC machining and programming experience in lieu of a formal degree. * Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks CAM, including 5-axis milling, mill-turn operations, machine model building, and custom control file development. * Demonstrated experience machining exotic alloys including Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel to tight tolerances. * Hands-on experience with live-tooling lathes with Y-axis capability and proven ability to program, set up, and operate multi-axis turning centers. * Strong self-starter with the ability to solve complex machining problems from first principles with minimal supervision, both independently and as a contributing team member in a fast-paced startup environment. * Eligible to pass an FBI/DoD background check and obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments, including familiarity with ITAR requirements. * Familiarity with automation and lights-out manufacturing systems. Travel, Physical and Government Mandated Requirements * Minimal travel expected; primarily an onsite role in Penrose/Pueblo, CO. * Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods in an outdoor industrial environment * Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age requirements (21 and over), a drug-free workplace in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (41 U.S.C. §§ 8101-8106), Executive Order 12564 (Drug-Free Federal Workplace), applicable Department of Defense directives including DoD Instruction 1010.09 and DFARS 252.226-7003 and successful completion of any legally required background investigations. * To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Parts 120-130) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730-774), applicants for this position must be a U.S. Person: a US Citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).
