CNC Programmer / Machinist – 3-Axis & 5-Axis

Longmont, CO | Direct Hire | $30–$55/hr DOE | 4-Day Workweek + OT on Fridays


A growing aerospace and defense manufacturer in Longmont is adding experienced CNC Programmers/Machinists to its team as it significantly expands its machining capabilities.


Two Direct-Hire openings are available:

  • 3-Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist- $30-40 per hour
  • 5-Axis CNC Programmer/Machinist- $35-$55 per hour


These are true cradle-to-grave positions. You’ll own the process from programming and tooling strategy through setup, prove-out, machining and inspection. This is an opportunity to work on complex, tight-tolerance aerospace and defense components using state-of-the-art equipment, new machines and advanced tooling.

What You'll Do

  • Program CNC machines using Mastercam 2027
  • Develop machining, tooling and workholding strategies
  • Create and optimize multi-axis toolpaths
  • Model tooling and holders and verify collision-free programs
  • Simulate and prove out programs
  • Set up machines, establish work offsets and probing routines
  • Run and monitor parts you personally programmed
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, setup and machining issues
  • Inspect completed parts for conformance to specifications
  • Optimize feeds, speeds, toolpaths, cycle times and processes
  • Help develop and improve machining processes as the department grows
