Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments with clients to gather comprehensive information regarding their mental health status and personal history.

  • Facilitate group therapy sessions to support peer interactions, allowing clients to share their experiences and establish community connections.
  • Regularly monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Serve as a key resource in crisis intervention, managing challenging situations effectively and ensuring appropriate follow-up support for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) to document client interactions and treatment progress.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including psychiatrists and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive care is delivered to clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role involves working with a diverse population, including individuals facing mental health challenges such as mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. You will approach each client with a culturally competent perspective, recognizing and respecting the unique backgrounds and experiences that shape their mental health journey. Your expertise will be paramount in helping clients find their paths to recovery and well-being.

Qualifications
  • A masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Registered (LCSW-R) in the state of New York.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience in mental health counseling.
  • A deep understanding of various mental health disorders, along with proven evidence-based treatment methodologies.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience conducting individual and group therapy with a strong focus on cultural responsiveness and inclusivity.
  • Demonstrated crisis intervention skills and familiarity with de-escalation techniques.
