You will be instrumental in conducting evaluations, crafting tailored treatment plans, and leading both individual and group therapy sessions.

Work Environment

This position is designed for remote work, leveraging our state-of-the-art telehealth facility. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will utilize secure, user-friendly technology platforms to conduct video sessions and manage patient records. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations and regular follow-ups, documenting case histories to track client progress.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions, taking into consideration the specific needs of individuals, couples, families, and various groups.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote healing and growth.
  • Monitor and document clients' progress throughout their treatment plans, adjusting strategies as needed to support their journey to recovery.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide aftercare by following up with clients recently discharged from hospitalization, ensuring continuity of care and support.
  • Identify potential barriers to recovery, offering guidance and resources to prevent setbacks.
  • Assist families and primary caregivers in understanding and managing the mental health challenges faced by their loved ones.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse range of clients struggling with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction disorders. Our approach is holistic, emphasizing the mind-body connection and recognizing the impact of underlying physical and emotional health conditions. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving the quality of life for our clients and fostering healthier family dynamics.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective client interactions and clear documentation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to connect with clients and establish rapport.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor, particularly in a remote or telehealth setting.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, for efficient client management.
  • Familiarity with best practices recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • In-depth understanding of the effects of psychotropic medications as prescribed by medical professionals.
  • Experience working with various mental health challenges across diverse populations.
