The Senior Logistics Analyst will be the driving force behind our transportation procurement, carrier management, and freight analysis. This role will oversee the end-to-end movement of goods including carrier selection, bidding and contract negotiations, and the resolution of transportation claims. The ideal candidate will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth flow of products throughout the supply chain and translating shipment analysis into actionable cost-savings and operational efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
RFP Management
- Lead the end-to-end RFP process for transportation procurement (TL, LTL, cross-border freight), including data preparation, market analysis, carrier selection, scenario modeling, and award implementation.
- Build clear bid packages, including lane specs, service requirements, accessorial definitions, and operational expectations.
- Manage bid distribution, Q&A, and communication with carriers.
- Compare carrier proposals against baselines and market benchmarks, while identifying outliers, unrealistic rates, and hidden cost risks.
- Develop annual, quarterly, and mini-bid strategies based on market conditions, capacity trends, and business needs.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, and Sales to align RFP goals with service and cost targets.
Implementation & Performance Management
- Oversee carrier onboarding, rate uploads, and TMS configuration.
- Monitor tender acceptance, service performance, and cost trends post-award.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key carriers.
- Adjust routing guides and carrier allocations as needed.
Supply Chain Optimization
- Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities, structural inefficiencies, and market trends to optimize routing and budgeting.
- Develop and maintain carrier scorecards and monitor key metrics like On-Time Delivery, tender acceptance rates, and billing accuracy.
- Analyze logistics data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop reports for management to identify areas for improvement.
Data Analysis & Cost Modeling
- Clean, validate, and structure 12-24 months of shipment history (lanes, volumes, accessorial, PCF, dwell, weight).
- Build lane-level baselines and cost-to-serve models.
- Analyze carrier bids using cost, service, and operational fit criteria.
- Create scenario models (cost-optimized, service-optimized, hybrid).
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all relevant import/export regulations, trade laws, and customs procedures to minimize risks and penalties.
- Review cargo liability, claims history, and safety performance.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in international trade regulations, while maintaining audit-ready documentation for all bid events and carrier agreements.
Vendor Management
- Evaluate, vet and onboard strategic transportation partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and other logistics service providers.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews with vendors and negotiate service contracts to ensure competitive pricing and service levels.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3-7 years of experience in transportation procurement and bidding, OTR trucking, brokerage, or supply chain analytics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor-management skills.
- Ability to interpret operational constraints (dwell, appointment windows, equipment needs).
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, insurance requirements, and carrier compliance standards.
- Experience with TMS platforms and rating engines.
- Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced Excel modeling; experience with Power BI or Tableau preferred.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle logistics challenges effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
- This is a full-time, on-site position located at our Buena Park office. Remote or hybrid work options are not available.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing large‑scale RFPs (100+ lanes).
- Experience in food‑grade, temperature‑controlled, or high‑value freight.
- Bilingual (English/Korean or English/Spanish) for cross‑border or multicultural carrier networks.
- Experience with scenario modeling tools or procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa, Jaggaer, Keelvar).
Pay range: $85K - $90K
